A Walking Sketchbook

Over Easter I walker from Carlise to the Island of Lindisfarne over a week, This is my sketchbook diary I kept along the way.

Rise and Shine: Stills

Red or Dead: desert scene tests

these are a couple of tests done for the desert scene





im going to enlarge the sun, make more mountains in the background and show more yellow sand and then i should be getting close to finnishing this scene, just need to add the bike!

Rise and Shine: cut so far

Here is how our film is looking:

Red or Dead: Desert Test

This test mixes some sand animation with the stratacut animation to give a possible look to what out desert scene may look like. i think the sky is a bit confusing but i still like the patterns

Red of Dead: Mirrored Plants

This is a compilation of tests i did using footage I took of plants and trees up at Enys Garden in Penryn. I have mirrored them in aftereffects, I think the coliderscope like patterns look great and will work as backdrops for the diffrent worlds.

Cinematography: I spy

This is the rough cut for our cinematography project,

I am producer on the project and Jack is director, it is jacks story we used and shot the footage in 2 days one on campus and one in town. Jayce edited this cut together and i think its looking good:

Red or Dead: strata-cut

here is the next animation technique we have been trying, me and matt rolled up a load of plastercine and then sliced it and photographed it each slice.
I then mirrored it in aftereffects to create these effects, these will possibly be used as the sky for the desert scene some how!

SuziePea: versions 2 and 3

here is the scene ive been animating for suzie pea over the last few weeks, i had a few issues getting the face of the character right and animating the crawl on to the bed

 smaller face and crawl changed from slide onto the bed:

here's one more short test i did for red or dead, the cut of Josie ont he bike will be swapped for the footage in the final film

Rise and shine: exploding kitchen

This week i animated all the shots for the split screen sceene which involves all the diffrent things in the kitchen exploding.
